What is GamePric.es?
GamePric.es is a price comparison tool dedicated to help gamers find the lowest prices on video games. We help you find the answer to the question 'where can I find the lowest price for...' any particular video game.
What is the mission statement?
Our vision is to be the destination for people to find the lowest prices on the most popular video games from reputable retailers.
Why GamePric.es and not some other price comparison site?
The obvious thing to say would be that GamePric.es is dedicated to help gamers find the lowest prices on video games and our core focus is on just that. While that statement is true, that's not the only reason why. Here are a few reasons:

Accuracy. The main reason why GamePric.es was started was due to frustration from using other price comparison sites because of stale pricing data. You think you're about to score a great deal based on the search results, and then BAM! You're disappointed when you get to the retailer's site only to find a higher price. Bummer. We take a different approach and provide you with near-realtime pricing information since we crawl and pull pricing information more often than the other price comparison sites. It's a serious matter for us if the pricing information you see is incorrect -- afterall, that should be the cornerstone of all price comparison sites. On the rare occasion that you do run into a pricing display error on GamePric.es, we've pioneered a feature that's so simple yet are not found on other sites -- a reporting mechanism for you to report such inaccuracies so we can take action to correct this matter immediately.

Relevancy. GamePric.es displays search results from retailers that you know and trust that are relevant to video games. The generic price comparison sites do not index video game only sites like EBGames or GameStop, and in other cases do not index big retailers like BestBuy, Walmart, Toys R Us, etc. While some other price comparison engines may have a larger list of retailers, if you look closely at the results, you'll notice that the majority of the prices from these retailers never are the lowest price and are from retailers you've possibly never heard of. Sometimes they even charge more than retail price! They are simply there so they can claim to have more results. We try to remove the noise and clutter to display to you only relevant video game pricing information from the places you're familiar with, shop at and trust.

Informative. We keep you informed with the latest pricing information from relevant retailers through our search results. GamePric.es also keeps you up-to-date with the latest price drops with the use of our Price Alert email notification system that users can set on anything that can be searched for. Our price results include new, used and trade-in prices. We also display game details, screenshots and reviews so you don't have to hop from one site to another for all of this information. Our roadmap also includes developing mobile applications so you stay informed while on the go.

How much does it cost to use GamePric.es?
GamePric.es is free to use!
Which retailers does GamePric.es show pricing information for?
Currently, we index 10 retailers. These include: Amazon.com, BestBuy, Buy.com, EBGames/GameStop, NewEgg.com, OverStock.com, Target, Toys R Us and Walmart.
Why only these retailers?
Our philosophy is quality over quantity. Other price comparison engines may have a larger list of retailers, but if you look closely at the results, you'll notice that the majority of the prices from these retailers never are the lowest price and are from retailers you've possibly never heard of. They are simply there so they can claim to have more results. We try to remove the noise and clutter to display to you only relevant video game pricing information from the places you're familiar with, shop at and trust.
Can I suggest a retailer to be included in the GamePric.es results?
You most certainly can. Shoot us an email to: suggestions@gamepric.es
However, we do follow a quality over quantity philosophy, as we have our own internal screening process to determine if a retailer does make it to the GamePric.es results or not. Some of these criterias include historical and current prices, demand and trustworthiness.
I'm a retailer and sell video games - ca GamePric.es include our prices in the GamePric.es results?
The short answer is no, as this goes back to our philosophy of quality over quantity. We have our own screening process and criteria used to determine which retail stores make it on the GamePric.es results or not. Unlike other price comparison engines, we don't have "Featured Sellers". We believe this is a conflict of interest since these other price comparison sites receive financial benefits for product placement, which does not help the end user who is looking for the lowest prices on video games. We're open to suggestions, but in general, we follow a "don't call us, we'll call you" policy.
Price Results
On occasion, why is the price displayed on GamePric.es different than the price displayed on the retailer's website?
It could possibly be that the price on the retailer's site had updated within the past 2 hours and our system hasn't picked it up yet. You can bring this to our attention by clicking on the 'report' link in the price results and we'll get it updated immediately.
Why no results from eBay?
We don't want to mix in auction pricing into our 'New' and 'Used' price results. In the future, we plan to introduce a 'Marketplace' tab which will contain price results from eBay and other 3rd party sellers.
Are there any plans to show price results for digital downloads of games from sites like Steam?
Currently we do not show digital downloads in our price results. However, this feature is currently on our road map.
Price Alerts
What are price alerts?
Price alerts are email notifications sent to you whenever a video game drops to or below a specified price that you have set.
How do I set up a price alert?
Whenever you search for a video game, on the price results page there is an icon on the left hand side below the image of the video game that reads 'Set a Price Alert'. Clicking on this will expand the price alert window. Fill in the price and email fields, hit submit and you will receive a price alert notification whenever the price drops to your specified price or lower.
I've set up a price alert, but the state shows 'AWAITING CONFIRMATION'. Why?
If the email address you typed in when setting up the price alert is different than the email address tied to your account, a price alert email confirmation is sent to that email address. Once the confirmation link is clicked, the price alert will become active. Price alerts become active automatically if the email address used while setting up the price alert matches the email address tied to your account.
How do I see all of my price alerts?
You can view and manage all price alerts that you've set up or have been assigned to your email address by going to the Price Alerts Manager.
What are the various states of a price alert?
A price alert can be in one of three states:

AWAITING CONFIRMATION: a confirmation email has been sent to the designated email address. Once the link in the confirmation email is visited, the price alert will become active.

ACTIVE: the price alert is currently active. Whenever the video game drops to or below the designated price, an email alert will be sent to the designated email address.

PAUSED: the price alert is paused - you will not receive any price alert notification emails.
Why is my price alert still in the 'AWAITING CONFIRMATION' state?
An email was sent to the designated email address containing a confirmation link. Please click this link to activate the price alert. Check your junk mail folder if the email doesn't appear in your inbox. If you haven't yet received the confirmation email, you can have it resent to you. Simply click on the icon on the Price Alerts Manager. Still having issues? Contact us at: support@gamepric.es or visit the support page.
How often are my price alerts being checked and notifications sent out to me?
The answer depends on how popular the item is. At a minimum, there are at least 6 checks throughout the day. If the item drops below the price you've set, you'll receive an email notifying you of the price drop.
Is there a limit for the number of price alerts I can set up?
Currently, users can set up to 10 price alerts.
Price Alert Emails
What does clicking on the 'I missed it' button do?
Let's walk through a typical scenario of how this button will be useful to you. Let's say you've set up a price alert for $50 on the latest Halo game. Imagine the price drops to $45 and you received the alert notification but you didn't get a chance to check out the deal until later when the price has increased back up to $60 or the game went out of stock. Bummer.

Now normally, you wouldn't receive a future price alert for that game unless the price drops further below $45. This is by design because our alert notification system is set up so you don't get bombarded by price alert notification emails. So clicking on the 'I missed it' button essentially resets the price at which you'll receive future alerts back up to the original price that you initially set, which in this case is $50. You'll then receive alerts if the price drops again to or below $50.

You can achieve the same effect in the price alerts manager by clearing out the value from the 'Notified At' column for the particular item.
